About This Event
The annual RM Sotheby's London to Brighton Veteran Car Run is an institution which always draws big crowds. The event celebrates the Emancipation Run of 1896 which saw a group of intrepid early motorists drive from capital to coast to celebrate the car being given the freedom of the open road and ended the horse-drawn era. More than 400+ pioneering vehicles from pre-1905 leave Hyde Park in London at dawn aiming for the finishing line is on Madeira Drive where the intrepid crews and their passengers enjoy a well-earned respite. It is a unique annual event which always attracts large numbers of onlookers and well-wishers.
