Brighton Early Music Festival 2026: Bringers of Dreams

The 25th edition of one of the UK's largest and most progressive early music festivals, established in 2002. BREMF 2026 explores the theme "Bringers of Dreams," focusing on the connections between imagination, aspiration, and the worlds of early music from the Middle Ages to the early 19th century. The festival features around 20 concerts and workshops spread across three festival weekends, celebrating the nebulous tideland of imagination that has fuelled countless pieces of art and music, new inventions, and alternative fantastical universes throughout history. Events are held in eight historic venues across Brighton and Hove, featuring world premieres, emerging artists' showcases, and performances by internationally renowned early music ensembles and soloists. The festival combines historically informed performance on period instruments with innovative programming that challenges preconceptions of early music.
